Description & Requirements

The Rates Analysis Analyst - Contract (6 months) will implement and maintain clients' rate agreements and execute the accurate set-up of rates in the Firm's systems as a critical component of the Timekeeper Rates set-up and Client Maintenance Process.


Main responsibilities:


  • Support the onboarding of client agreements and maintain client profiles while documenting information
  • Verify client rate agreements are correctly implemented in SAP at all levels
  • Assess volume-based discount tracking implementation in SAP and communication sent to appropriate teams
  • Conduct New Matter checking maintenance for SAP set-up
  • Review and calculate billing rates for new timekeepers based on the underlying client agreement for selected clients
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned


Skills and experience:


  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, finance, liberal arts, or related courses is preferred
  • Experience in a billing or pricing role is an advantage
  • General understanding of accounting or finance principles as well as the specific law firm or professional service accounting structure, environment, and requirements
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word Outlook)
  • Knowledge and experience of financial systems (SAP preferred but not required)
  • Have the confidence to escalate and ask questions, especially when being asked to deviate from standard processes
  • Can prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Able to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands, including learning new skills when required
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and effective organizational skills
  • Anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, follow up on own initiative
  • Flexible to work a reasonable shift schedule is required
