The Business Development Coordinator Transactions Group - Contract (3 months) will be instrumental in supporting the North American strategy in order to maximize client retention and growth for the Transactional Practice Groups.
Drive Business Development Strategy
- Partner with practice group leadership to develop and implement North American business development strategies aligned with firm objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities, client growth initiatives, and cross-selling opportunities across practices and industries.
- Support strategic business planning and track progress against agreed priorities.
Lead Pitches and Pursuits
- Collaborate with Pitch Specialists and relationship partners to manage proposals, RFPs, panel appointments, and competitive tender responses.
- Help position Baker McKenzie for success in key client opportunities throughout North America.
Enhance Practice Profile and Market Presence
- Develop and execute campaigns that elevate the visibility and reputation of the Transactional Practice Groups.
- Oversee sponsorships, conferences, speaking engagements, client events, boardroom programs, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Support the publication of client alerts, newsletters, and other market-facing content.
Manage Marketing Collateral and Directories
- Oversee the development and maintenance of practice group collateral, capability statements, lawyer biographies, transaction lists, and website content.
- Lead and coordinate submissions for prominent legal directories and league tables, including Chambers, Legal 500, and other industry rankings.
Budget and Team Leadership
- Manage business development initiatives to maximize return on investment and support budget planning.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to the Business Development Coordinator supporting the North American Transactional Practice Group.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in business development, marketing, communications, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development initiatives.
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

If located in an office in one of the states below, the US hourly compensation for this position is expected to be in the range listed. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
