Description & Requirements

The IP Clerk/IP Paralegal - Mid-Level will provide essential trademark support, ensuring accuracy and timely filings across Canadian and global jurisdictions.


Main responsibilities:


  • Provide legal and administrative support to attorneys and clients
  • Research, prepare, and file trademark applications and related documents with the Canadian Trademarks Office, courts, and other agencies
  • Draft and prepare correspondence for filings and client reporting
  • Coordinate trademark-related work with global offices and external counsel
  • Conduct trademark searches using Canadian Trademarks Office database and online tools (e.g., Saegis)
  • Organize and maintain files, manage deadlines, and ensure docketing accuracy
  • Assist with filing documentation for Opposition and Cancellation proceedings, including evidence filing and compiling exhibits 
  • Collaborate with the legal team to provide general IP support


Skills and experience:


  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WebTMS, and docketing systems
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Post-secondary education
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar IP role

Additional Information

The Canadian base compensation/ for this position is expected to be CAN $62,730 to CAN $76,670 annually if located in Toronto. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
