Description & Requirements

Baker McKenzie.Wong & Leow is seeking a Practice Support Executive to join the Tax Practice Group on a full-time, 12-month contract, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent role. The role provides operational and administrative support to the team across regulatory filings, government applications, client administration, research and other practice-related activities.


About the role

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Regulatory and Government Filings

  • Assist with liaising with government agencies on administrative matters and filings.
  • Liaise with IRAS, including migration to myTax Portal, filing and extraction of correspondence.
  • Prepare and file IRAS applications (e.g. Advance Rulings, Stamp Duty and GST applications).
  • Prepare and file incentive applications and grant forms with the Economic Development Board (EDB).
  • Prepare and file MAS 13O and 13U applications.
  • Keep track of MAS Financial Centre Development circulars and related applications.
  • Track SCTP Tax & Levies Committee minutes, announcements and updates from IRAS.
  • Other tasks as required to support client needs.


Research, Information Management and Project Support

  • Conduct corporate and register searches through ACRA and other relevant sources.
  • Undertake client-specific research, including research relating to ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
  • Coordinate logistics and maintenance of the team's tax case book.
  • Provide coordination and administrative support for restructuring projects.
  • Other tasks as required to practice group and business needs.


About the candidate

  • Diploma or degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Relevant experience in a professional services, tax, legal, financial services or regulatory environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience preparing, submitting or coordinating regulatory applications, filings and correspondence with government agencies would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable using technology and digital solutions to improve efficiency; exposure to AI-enabled tools and workflow automation would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
