Description & Requirements

The Senior Business Analyst, Finance Solutions will oversee and execute core functions within the Finance Solutions domain, with a specific focus on systems, including Emburse/Chrome River, Vendor Invoice Portal (VIP), and integrations involving ServiceNow, SAP, and Boomi.

 

The role-holder will ensure the seamless operation and enhancement of financial systems through effective collaboration, technical execution, and strategic alignment with business needs.


Main responsibilities:


Administrative Support & Configuration:

  • Perform administrative updates and configuration changes within Emburse
  • Configure Emburse Enterprise settings such as taxes, per diem rates, and master data not sourced from SAP
  • Maintain the status of Finance Solution Service accounts for multiple applications
  • Perform SQL database admin activities for the databases supporting various applications
  • Manage VIP platform operations


System Integration & Support:

  • Provide seamless support for Emburse Enterprise, VIP, ServiceNow eInvoice, and their integrations with SAP and Emburse Mobile App
  • Deliver production support for key functionalities, including Emburse Expense, Emburse Invoice, and system integrations
  • Support SAP FI (Finance) functionality and ensure smooth integration between SAP and Emburse systems
  • Manage integration workflows between ServiceNow and Emburse via eInvoice
  • Manage integration between VIP and Emburse, and SAP and Emburse via Boomi
  • Conduct unit and integration testing to validate system changes and enhancements
  • Oversee deployment of solutions into the production environment and provide ongoing development and production support


Requirements Gathering & Functional Design:

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system solutions that optimize financial workflows, provide effort estimates, and collaborate with development teams to deliver solutions
  • Collect and document business-as-usual (BAU) requirements and support the Demand Manager in coordinating with internal teams and external vendors
  • Engage with business process owners to gather and analyze requirements from a legal industry perspective


Project & Change Management:

  • Participate in implementation and enhancement projects related to Emburse Enterprise and VIP as a functional team member
  • Assist in new projects and enhancements aligned with Fiscal Year goals, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Participate in weekly scrum calls and project meetings to track progress, address issues, and align with team goals
  • Complete and maintain risk assessments, impact analyses, and implementation documentation as part of the change management process
  • Support release and deployment activities, including build, testing, transport imports, and production configuration


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams to ensure solutions meet business and technical standards
  • Collaborate with other leads to design and develop integrated solutions aligned with organizational needs and industry best practices


Documentation & Knowledge Management:

  • Document solutions to enhance maintainability and contribute to the organizational knowledge base
  • Assist in the preparation of multiple ServiceNow forms and other project-related documentation


Research & Innovation:

  • Explore Emburse Academy and other resources to identify solutions and implement process improvements
  • Research emerging technologies and functionalities, providing recommendations for adoption


Skills and experience:


  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Can demonstrate expertise in designing, building, and maintaining interfaces across multiple enterprise applications in close collaboration with technical teams
  • Able to define systems strategy, gather and document requirements, design and prototype solutions, conduct testing and training, establish support procedures, and implement practical business solutions under tight deadlines
  • Skilled in researching business requirements and identifying innovative solutions to enhance and streamline business processes; Capable of evaluating emerging technologies and recommending their adoption based on functional relevance and value
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), particularly within Agile environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful collaboration in global, cross-functional team settings
  • Proficient in SQL database administration, with hands-on experience in managing and optimizing database performance
  • Experience in full-stack development is an added advantage
  • Strong experience in software development and production support
  • Some experience in SQL database administration
  • Some experience in working with middleware tools such as Dell Boomi
  • Prior Experience in Chrome River/Emburse Enterprise application is a plus

Travel requirements: Occasional travel will be a requirement in this role.
