Description & Requirements

The Product Manager, Legal Technology Solutions will manage and take ownership of a technology solutions portfolio that supports the daily business operations of the Firm's lawyers. The role-holder will focus on maximizing the business value of the portfolio.


As part of our Technology Practice of Law Solutions department, the role-holder will be dedicated to ensuring a superior user experience by delivering value-added solutions, implementing technology adoption strategies, developing strategic roadmaps, and managing stakeholder relationships.


Main responsibilities:


  • Management of the product portfolio to ensure standardization and rationalization plans are developed; Ensure the solutions meet the changing needs of the business through the lifecycle of the product
  • Maintain roadmaps for all solutions in the portfolio
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors within the product portfolio
  • Understand the total cost of ownership (TCO) of all owned products and provide input to leadership on required budgets
  • Coordinate and/or provide 3rd line support for products in the portfolio
  • Translate business objectives for the technical design/architecture of the required solutions
  • Implement and carry out ongoing maintenance of effective system governance, compliance, and business continuity procedures for managed products following ISMS Policies
  • Lead the technical coordination of all activities as they relate to projects and operational activities, including the clear and concise reporting of status at regular intervals
  • Participate in projects for enhancements and changes necessary to meet changing business requirements for managed products
  • Contribute to team effort through communication, cooperation and coordination with other IT teams, including: 
    • the Desktop Platforms Team on application deployment 
    • the Security team to assess and certify that the solutions/products meet the Firm's security requirements 
    • the Technical Change Management Team for submissions of Requests for Change via the ITSM process
    • the testing team to perform application testing and troubleshooting, including participation in pilot implementations
    • the Change Management Team on new application requests regarding major projects
    • the Release Management Team to ensure that any changes to applications transition to production successfully
    • the Technical Change Team to ensure timely planning for any submission of RFCs
    • the Training team to develop user documentation and training as required
  • Develop software product support plans and ensure relevant training is provided to Service Desk and On-site Teams
  • Work outside normal business hours to communicate with people in multiple time zones


Skills and experience:


  • Some hands-on working experience in a professional environment
  • Some experience of involvement in successful product implementations and ongoing enhancements 
  • Strong understanding of product management methodologies
  • Expert knowledge of the M365 suite
  • Strong awareness of and interest in technology trends relevant to the portfolio
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication abilities, with a track record of building trust and respect at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

Travel requirements: Limited travel required on an ad-hoc basis only
