Description & Requirements

The Senior SAP Fiori Developer will perform complex development using Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) and Fiori, including UI5 and OData, and to design, test, and debug solutions. The role-holder will work on implementations, enhancements, and support of SAP modules.


Main responsibilities: 


  • Design, develop, and administer SAP UI5 applications 
  • Perform SAP Fiori configuration, development, and extensions, including OData development
  • Design and implement new solutions using SAP’s latest UI5 and Fiori platform technologies
  • Provide the Production support to the existing Fiori environment
  • Create, modify, and maintain Data Medium Exchange Engine (DMEE) trees to generate payment files for different banks and formats based on specific country and bank requirements
  • Develop and maintain custom ABAP programs related to the Automatic Payment Program (F110) to support new DME functionalities and requirements
  • Collaborate with functional teams to understand payment requirements, banking protocols, and regulatory standards for DME output
  • Develop and deploy custom E-Invoicing solutions using SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) or integrating with third-party providers
  • Create or configure programs to extract invoice data from SAP and convert it into the country-specific required formats, such as XML, Peppol, FatturaPA
  • Design and develop custom layouts for invoices, credit memos, and other documents using Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, or SAP Scripts
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional and multi-location project team to ensure that work delivered meets business requirements and standards both functionally and technically
  • Evaluate, interpret, and understand functional specifications for complex custom development in Project System (PS), Sales and Distribution (SD) and Financial Accounting (FI) modules; collaborate with other SAP developers, designers, and architects to ensure Technical Requirements of ABAP applications meet or exceed the functional application requirements and performance goals
  • Translate functional specifications into technical design documents, provide accurate estimates, and deliver the desired functionality
  • Perform ABAP development as directed by the ABAP Technical Lead, following SAP best practices, and development and coding standards 
  • Follow security coding best practices to ensure the application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities
  • Perform technical testing and peer code reviews, fixing any identified defects or performance problems
  • Provide technical support to jobs and interface-related requests escalated by the Functional team or route tickets to the next level of support as needed
  • Document solutions to facilitate maintenance
  • Inform solution architects, ABAP Technical Lead, and the Project Manager of issues that may affect other areas of the project
  • Participate in all SAP implementation projects as a technical team member
  • Complete and maintain risk, impact, and implementation work orders as part of the Change Management process
  • Build new releases in the development environment, transfer new releases from development to test environments, and perform production configuration and technical code validation as necessary for emergency application changes
  • Participate in the build, deployment, testing and remediation of releases, conduct knowledge transfer activities, import transports, and provide production support as part of the Release and Deployment Management process


Skills and experience:


  • A bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience is required
  • Extensive experience in SAP ABAP programming for system implementation or maintenance, including reports, interfaces, enhancements, function modules, and module pool
  • Extensive experience with ABAP development and a strong understanding of SAP integration technologies such as SAP Process Integration/Orchestration (PI/PO) or SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI)
  • Can demonstrate a high-level of ABAP debugging and performance tuning skills
  • Strong experience working with Fiori development, including OData and UI5 development, in at least 2 implementation projects
  • Proven experience in SAP Fiori configuration, development, and extensions
  • Experience in Fiori Design patterns and expertise in UI Theme designer
  • Some hands-on experience in BADIs, Proxies, switch framework, IDOCs, Business Transaction Events (BTE), User Exits and Web Dynpro
  • Deep knowledge of SAP HANA and proven experience in development and delivery within the SAP HANA platform
  • Strong experience in configuring and developing DMEE trees for various payment formats and developing custom logic to meet bank requirements
  • Knowledge of common E-Invoicing standards such as Universal Business Language (UBL) and PEPPOL, with the ability to work with complex XML structures
  • Some hands-on SAP S/4 HANA experience is a plus
  • Able to build SAP Print Forms, create ABAP workflows, and perform batch job monitoring
  • In-depth functional experience in at least one SAP module, such as Finance and Controlling (FI‑CO) or SD- Resource‑Based Billing, as well as working knowledge of two or more additional modules
  • SAP certifications are preferred
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, JQUERY, XML, JSON, and HTML5
  • Strong knowledge and application of the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent communication skills with able to collaborate in a team environment
