We are seeking an experienced Dispute Resolution Lawyer to join our Hong Kong Dispute Resolution team. This role forms part of our growing practice focused on complex commercial litigation, cross‑border shareholder matters, regulatory investigations, and high‑value corporate disputes. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior lawyers in handling sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional contentious matters.
Key Responsibilities:
The Associate will be expected to:
- Handle a broad range of commercial and corporate disputes, including complex shareholder and joint‑venture matters.
- Manage multi‑jurisdictional litigation and arbitration involving Hong Kong, Mainland China, and other international/offshore jurisdictions.
- Advise clients on contentious regulatory matters, including enquiries and investigations by financial and listing regulators.
- Develop litigation strategies, prepare pleadings, evidence, and legal submissions, and oversee case management throughout proceedings.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
- Provide timely, commercially oriented advice to senior management, boards, financial institutions, and corporate stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross‑border teams and external counsel to ensure alignment in complex, multi‑party disputes.
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, trainees, and paralegals on research, drafting, and case preparation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high‑quality service delivery.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, including client pitches, thought leadership, and market updates.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with 3+ years of post‑qualification experience in dispute resolution.
- Strong background in commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, and/or regulatory investigations.
- Experience handling multi-jurisdictional matters, ideally with exposure to PRC‑related disputes or offshore company structures.
- Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Strong client‑facing approach, with the ability to provide strategic, commercially oriented advice.
- Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating within a team.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese. The ability to speak Mandarin is a must.
