Descripción y requisitos

The Tax Accountant, Record-to-Report (R2R) will provide In-Market Record-to-Report (R2R) expertise on all tax-related matters, including VAT, WHT, Corporation Tax, PSA, GST, foreign office VAT and Partner Tax.  Produce annual tax computations and liaise with external tax advisors.


Main responsibilities:


  • Deal with ad-hoc queries on such matters as coding, expenses, and asset capitalization.  Review and correct mispostings
  • Work with all areas of the finance team in London and the Belfast Service Centre to reduce mispostings
  • Provide training on all tax-related areas
  • Assist in the release of payments and approval of expenses
  • Calculation of quarterly corporation tax payments on account for BM Services and BM Global Services
  • Assist, review and finalize the LLP, Global Services and Services II VAT submissions
  • Assist, review and finalize the partnership tax computation for LLP and Services II
  • Liaise with our external tax advisors, resolve all additional queries regarding the tax return submission for LLP and Services II
  • Assist and review calculation of estimates for basis period reform for LLP and Services II partner tax returns;  Also, review tax exposures as a result of estimates versus final tax exposure to London Partners. Provide guidance and support to London Partners on differences
  • Assist, review and distribute R185 forms
  • Assist, review and finalize Services and Global Services tax computations, work with external tax advisor, resolving additional queries
  • Assist, review and finalize Services and Global Services PSA computations
  • Review expenses for taxable benefits and liaise with the Senior Payroll Manager to ensure payroll
  • Liaise with Senior Payroll Manager to ensure IR35 compliance
  • Support Business Professionals’ functions initiatives and help ensure they are implemented in alignment with strategy and guidelines set by Specialist Functions and Global Process Owners
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the financial operations
  • Provide tax support to lawyers and business services, ensuring that the office is compliant with local tax-related rules
  • Continuous review of the Firm to ensure full tax compliance
  • Provide the tax disclosures and calculations required for the statutory accounts of the London entities as required, and liaise with the external audit of those accounts
  • Work with the finance team in London and Belfast in preparing the required backup to tax balances for the global internal audit function; Comparing accrual and cash accounting


Skills and experience:


  • A bachelor’s degree is desirable
  • Qualified with an appropriate recognized tax body
  • Significant relevant Finance experience
  • Experience in a global professional services organization is a plus
  • Proven ability to influence, interact and consult with senior leaders regarding finance processes, guidelines and compliance
  • Working proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other Productivity Tools; SAP experience is desirable
  • Strong in project management and systemic thinking
  • Able to network and collaborate with teams, both regional and global, while acknowledging their cultural, social and academic diversity

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel.
