Descripción y requisitos

The Applications Engineer, Legal Technology Solutions will provide expert support and management of a portfolio of applications essential to the practice of law, focusing on application reliability, performance, capacity, security and maximizing the overall value of the portfolio.


Main responsibilities: 


  • Provide technical and functional support to the business, as an escalation point to resolve urgent and/or complex issues for all applications in the portfolio
  • Take ownership of incidents or problems assigned and see these through to completion on a timely basis
  • Assist the Portfolio Manager with the analysis of applications/solutions and project-related tasks
  • Assist with the development of standardization and rationalization plans and ensure the products meet the changing needs of the business through the lifecycle of the product
  • Assist with the proactive maintenance of systems by planning and adopting updates promptly, and determining the impact on existing operations by consulting with other IT teams
  • In alignment with Firm priorities, participate in projects for enhancements and changes necessary to meet changing business requirements for their managed products
  • Maintain application documentation in the relevant knowledge repositories; provide training to the Service & Support Teams
  • Maintain and improve professional and technical knowledge and keep abreast of innovations and changes relevant to the portfolio
  • Maintain existing relationships with application providers within the product portfolio
  • Contribute to team effort through communication, cooperation, and coordination with other IT teams, including:
    • the Desktop Platforms Team on application deployment
    • the Security team to assess and certify that the solutions/products meet the Firm's security requirements
    • the Technical Change Management Team for submissions of Requests for Change via the ITSM process
  • Understand how the practice and business professionals use the applications in the portfolio, monitor licensing numbers and adoption, and ensure they are being used efficiently


Skills and experience:


  • Strong experience with M365 Apps and M365 Copilot 
  • Interested in technology trends relevant to the application portfolio
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex documents and the applications that create them
  • Can demonstrate knowledge of M365 cloud platforms such as SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Experience in executing application updates and upgrades
  • Experience in document productivity technology in legal is highly desirable
  • Able to build and maintain trusted relationships and open two-way communication
  • Able to work independently and as a cohesive member of a team
  • Able to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Able to learn new skills in a short period of time
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Strong team player with a high level of integrity
  • Able to translate functional issues and questions into application solutions
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
