The Business Development Executive - Corporate will provide hands-on support to the London Corporate Business Development (BD) team and the wider Business Development, Marketing, and Communications (BDMC) function. The role-holder will support the delivery of the Corporate strategy and key priorities while developing strong foundational business development skills.


The role-holder will support day-to-day execution, coordination, and communication, working closely with senior BD colleagues, Partners, and fee earners across the business. 


The Corporate group comprises five subgroups (Projects, M&A, Capital Markets, Private Equity, and Reorganizations), and the Business Development Executive will provide BD support across the department as a whole.


Main responsibilities: 


Team & Departmental Support:


  • Provide day-to-day support to the London Corporate Business Development (BD) team, focusing on agreed priorities and core BD activities
  • Work across the wider BDMC function, liaising with specialist teams including central marketing, proposals, directories, events, key client management, data analytics, and design, under the guidance of senior colleagues
  • Support execution of the Corporate BD strategy by coordinating actions, tracking progress, and ensuring inputs are delivered on time


Pitching & Proposals:


  • Support pitching activities, including preparing and updating pitch materials, capability statements, CVs, and deal lists
  • Assist with the rollout and adoption of a new pitch tool, supporting fee earners to become increasingly confident in self-service for standard materials
  • Capture and maintain pitch and deal data to support reporting and future opportunities


BD Infrastructure & Core Processes:


  • Support the core BD infrastructure underpinning day-to-day activities, including maintaining systems, capturing deals, and ensuring information is accurate and up to date
  • Assist with organizing, sharing, and maintaining BD materials and content to ensure accessibility across the team


Fee Earner Engagement & Internal Collaboration:


  • Support Partners and fee earners with BDMC requirements by coordinating requests, briefing specialist teams, and tracking delivery
  • Help ensure clear and effective communication between Corporate BD and the wider BDMC function
  • Work with associates and junior fee earners to encourage involvement in BD activities, under the guidance of senior BD colleagues


Tools, Resources & Communications:


  • Support the rollout of new BD tools, resources, and templates, including assisting with communications and basic training materials
  • Assist with internal communications to keep fee earners informed about BD initiatives, tools, and opportunities
  • Support proactive initiatives by following up actions, gathering inputs, and helping drive activity forward


Thought Leadership & Profile Raising:


  • Support thought leadership and external profile-raising activities, including sponsorships, campaigns, articles, and speaking opportunities
  • Assist with maintaining and developing the Firm’s profile in key sectors through trade body memberships, sponsorship activity, and marketing initiatives
  •  Identify opportunities to promote products, propositions, and recent work internally and externally


Skills and experience: 


  • A bachelor’s degree is desirable
  • A strong interest in a marketing and/or business development role, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Experience working in teams
  • Able to demonstrate strong judgment, with the ability to contribute well-reasoned independent strategic recommendations and ideas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to effectively coordinate competing priorities
  • A good practical understanding of marketing and communications
  • Self-motivated and independent, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working across multiple cultures and time zones within a matrix organization 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others
  •  A high level of attention to detail
