Baker McKenzie

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented mid-level associate to join our Civil and Commercial Litigation practice in Monterrey. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value disputes for domestic and international clients across a broad range of industries.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in civil and commercial litigation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage matters with increasing autonomy while collaborating within cross-border teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support all phases of civil and commercial litigation, including case assessment, strategy development, and execution.
• Draft, review, and file procedural and substantive pleadings, motions, and legal briefs.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise legal analysis on complex issues.
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings (as applicable).
• Coordinate with clients, experts, and external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assist in the development of litigation strategies aligned with clients’ business objectives.
• Support partners in managing case timelines, budgets, and client communications.
• Participate in arbitration proceedings and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, when relevant.

Qualifications

• Law degree 
• 3–5 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation at a reputable law firm.
• Strong drafting and oral advocacy skills in English 
• Experience handling complex disputes
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of professionalism, responsiveness, and client service orientation.
