The Automation Specialist, Process and Quality will design, build, test, deploy, and support end-to-end automations that improve speed, quality, control, and customer experience across Operations and related Business Services teams. The role-holder will deliver automation using a balanced mix of AI resources, RPA, workflow/orchestration, and Power Platform capabilities — including UiPath, n8n, and Microsoft Power Platform (e.g., Power Automate, Power Apps). The individual will also apply modern AI-assisted approaches (prompt-driven prototyping and iterative refinement) to accelerate development while maintaining strong governance, testing, and documentation.
Main responsibilities:
- Design and deliver end-to-end automations from discovery through deployment and support
- Build and maintain automations using AI tools, UiPath, n8n and Power Platform (approximately even platform mix), selecting the right approach for each use case
- Use Microsoft Power Platform to automate processes and improve user experience (e.g., Power Automate for workflow automation, Power Apps for lightweight front-ends/forms, and connectors to integrate systems)
- Apply AI-assisted programming techniques to prototype and iterate quickly (prompt-driven scaffolding, rapid experimentation), then harden solutions through code reviews, testing, and documentation
- Perform testing, release preparation, and post-deployment support; contribute to UAT planning and defect triage
- Monitor automation performance and resolve incidents; perform root cause analysis and implement preventative fixes (logging, alerting, retries, better exception handling)
- Maintain documentation including solution designs, runbooks, SOPs, and change/release notes
- Ensure automations comply with governance, risk, and security requirements, including access controls and auditability
- Drive engagement activities in their respective center, supporting employees with self-led process improvement projects using LSS, AI, Automation and other resources
Skills and experience:
- Experience delivering automation end-to-end (requirements → design → build → test → deploy → support)
- Hands-on experience with UiPath and/or n8n, and willingness to build across both
- Practical experience using Microsoft Power Platform for automation (Power Automate; Power Apps desirable)
- Comfortable with AI-assisted development using prompts to accelerate prototyping and solution scaffolding, while validating outputs and applying engineering discipline
- Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills, including exception handling and control design
- Able to document solutions clearly (solution design, runbooks) and communicate with non-technical stakeholders
