The Content Specialist – Data, Taxonomy & Content Optimization will be part of the Content Management Solutions team and will be responsible for strengthening the data, taxonomy and optimization foundations that underpin the Firm’s content governance, enterprise search and AI enablement.
The role-holder will support the Firm’s Content & Expertise, and AI strategies, by ensuring content is consistently structured, classified and governed across platforms. Working closely with the Data Governing Board, Content, Technology, AI and Business stakeholders, the individual will focus on embedding governance standards into practical, measurable ways of working that enable scalable, repeatable solutions rather than one-off implementations.
Main responsibilities:
Content mapping and optimization:
- Support the rationalization of the Firm's content, helping clarify where content lives and how it should be surfaced across platforms
- Assist with mapping internal content types to authoritative systems, reinforcing the Firm’s single source of truth model
- Identify opportunities to reduce duplication and improve reuse through clearer structure and surfacing rather than replication
- Support best practice onboarding for new content initiatives, products and practice led innovation
Taxonomy and metadata stewardship:
- Support the development, maintenance and adoption of shared taxonomies and metadata standards across internal platforms
- Apply taxonomy and metadata consistently to internal content to improve discoverability, reporting and AI readiness
- Work with Product, Data and Knowledge colleagues to ensure taxonomy dependencies are aligned across platforms and initiatives
- Help operationalize taxonomy changes so they are embedded into workflows rather than treated as manual overhead
Data, reporting and content health:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of baseline dashboards and reports, including:
- Intranet review and retention cycles
- BakerKnowhow content review compliance
- Internal content currency and quality indicators
- Support monitoring of content health metrics to enable transparency and evidence based decision making
- Use reporting insights to highlight risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities related to internal content governance
AI and enterprise search enablement:
- Support the preparation of internal content and data for use in enterprise search, Copilot and AI enabled tools
- Ensure metadata, taxonomy, and content structure support safe, relevant and scalable AI use cases
- Contribute to ongoing optimization of internal content foundations so AI initiatives can be reused, refined and scaled
Governance and continuous improvement:
- Support the operationalization of review, retention and lifecycle policies for internal content
- Maintain documentation, guidance and onboarding materials related to taxonomy, metadata and content standards
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and simplification in content and data workflows.
- Collaborate with other Content Specialists to ensure alignment across internal and external content domains
Skills and experience:
- Experience in a professional or legal services environment, such as content, knowledge or shared services, is desirable
- Experience supporting content management, knowledge management or technology initiatives, including migrations or platform enhancements.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with SharePoint or enterprise content platforms is an advantage
- Able to review, analyze and organize content and information accurately, with exceptional attention to detail
- High standards of quality, with a strong understanding of content governance and risk
- Strong written, organizational and problem‑solving skills
- Client‑service oriented, with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines
- Clear communicator, able to work effectively with colleagues across teams and levels
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, keen to learn and use initiative, and respectful of the Firm’s diverse, international working environment
