About the Role

Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow is looking to hire a Junior Associate to join our Tier 1 Tax & Trade practice in Singapore. This role offers an opportunity to build a strong foundation in Singapore and international tax work within a leading global law firm.

The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior associates on a broad range of tax advisory and transactional matters, with exposure to regional and cross-border work.

About the Team

Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow has the largest number of dedicated tax practitioners among law firms in Singapore and offers a comprehensive range of tax expertise. As a Tier 1-ranked Tax practice, we regularly undertake global and regional work, including multi-jurisdictional advisory, planning, restructuring, and dispute resolution matters.

The Singapore tax team works closely with colleagues across Asia Pacific and internationally, often contributing to and coordinating regional and global tax strategies for multinational clients.

About the Candidate

• Singapore Bar qualification
• Strong academic background
• Junior lawyer with a demonstrated interest in tax, or open to transitioning into a tax practice
• Candidates with prior experience in dispute resolution, corporate, or other commercial practice areas who are keen to develop expertise in tax are encouraged to apply
• Keen and analytical mind, with strong legal analysis and problem-solving skills
• Good drafting skills and attention to detail
• Strong client service orientation
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, including with colleagues across offices
• Commitment to high work standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
