The group is looking for paralegal candidates with an interest in international relations, foreign policy, national security, and the law to work in Baker McKenzie’s DC office to support the International Trade Group’s attorneys across the United States (Washington, DC; Chicago; San Francisco/Palo Alto; Houston). The paralegal will work closely with B&M associates and partners on cutting-edge trade legal issues for US and non-US clients, including sanctions, export controls, customs/tariffs, trade remedies, trade litigation, and foreign investment reviews (e.g., CFIUS), engaging in a mix of administrative and substantive support to the group.
Day-to-day projects will include, among other things, supporting US Department of Commerce submissions and US Court of International Trade filings; submitting regulatory filings to and interfacing directly with agencies in the US Departments of State, Treasury, Commerce, Homeland Security, and Justice; conducting due diligence and corporate research; completing restricted party screening; supporting client encryption and boycott-related reporting; coordinating the Firm's highly popular Global Trade blogs, monitoring and distilling rapid trade developments, and managing practice group files. We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated and take the initiative in providing support to and collaborating with attorneys. This is a great opportunity for recent college graduates who may be interested in attending law school, but such interest is also not a requirement.
